Vian (pictured below) first arrived in Australia 21 years ago, from Iraq. She moved countries with her parents and siblings as it was becoming too unsafe for them to live there.
She started working in Mirrabooka Fresh 20 years ago, as the shop had just been bought by its current owner. Since that time, she has seen the shop expand on three different occasions, slowly taking over nearby retailers as business grew.
Today, Mirrabooka Fresh is well known in the local community for its competitive prices, and customers travel from far and wide to grab a bargain. The shops also expanded its product range, including a variety of internationally-sourced products, such as Filipino, Korean, European and Middle Eastern items.
Vian is successfully managing the store with an abundance of fresh produce restocked several times throughout the day.
