Community Silk Art Project

DATE: 30 Jun 22 - 17 Jul 22

LOCATION: Near the Customer Service Desk

Be mesmerised by an 8-metre silk artwork; the inspiration and centrepiece of The Square Mirrabooka NAIDOC Community Showcase.

Created by Sudbury House, in partnership with Peter Farmer Designs, the silk tells a story of community, representing unity and coming together. In celebration of NAIDOC 2022, the flora & fauna that decorate the silk are symbolic of the different communities within Mirrabooka, and the line work is a representation of the Biddi's connecting the communities together.

The artwork has been created by Peter Farmer alongside a group of local Elders, volunteers and at-risk & diverse groups within Mirrabooka over the past six months.

  • Where: near the Customer Service Desk
